WIP: Brea Bag

Unfortunately, school sucks all of my crafting time away from me.

This is what she looks like so far:

My lining (which is going to be excruciating to sew in) with the truest color I could get for the bag.

Blah. I need to find/make a handle.

WIP: Cranberry Brea Bag

I think that I'm in love with this pattern so far.

Don't mind the hideous contrasting rag that I was using to squeeze the excess water out of the two sides of the bag. I've been following this pattern exactly so far, and all I have to finish is the bag "bottom," if you will.

I just can't decide what I want to do for a strap....

FO: Novelty Yarn Scarf

I loved this yarn when I saw it at Joanne's:

Well, that yarn + size 17 needles =

FOs: SnB Nation Head Hugger and Knitted Bangles

Between brushing all of the damn chocolate that has "bloomed,"

packing up all of the chocolates that haven't sold,

and smelling the raspberry chamborde truffles,

I, for some reason, have still be extremely bored at work. Most of my version of Stitch and Bitch Nation's Head Hugger was done in complete boredom in the back room of Betsy Ann Chocolates. Since I didn't have the book with me, the pattern is pretty much of my own design. The only thing that I used from the book was the the flower pattern, and, I must say, I like mine so much better than the original.

Instead of working the 1x1 ribbing after making my i-cord, I made this by using stockinette with a garter stitch border. It was only after completion of the actual "hugger" that I realized how stupid I was. stockinette curls up. Duh! So, I decided to line the inside of the band to prevent any major curling AND hide all of the yarn/yarn ends from sewing on the flowers.

The lining was just some fabric I had bough a couple of years ago because I thought that it was pretty:

Vintage buttons from my MeMa's stash!

As most of my friends know, I have a hard time just sitting and watching a movie. I feel compelled to knit. So, during my sappy movie marathon last night, this is what I came up with...

BANGLES!!!

The seaming is almost invisible:

If/when I start up my crafting business, I think that I'm going to be making these suckers in every single color imaginable. BRILLIANT!

WIPs: Head Hugger and Care Bear Letters

Currently on the needles: my modified version of Stitch and Bitch Nation's Head Hugger. I'm using a stockinette stitch with a garter stitch boarder instead of the 1x1 ribbing that it calls for. Hurrah for stash busting! This sucker is going to made entirely of Caron's Simply Soft.

Heh. After letting the materials sit around my room for a year now, I finally decided to make myself my family's Care Bear Letters. Ironically, not only am I the only person in my family who doesn't have them, but I'm also the only girl. Yup. All 3 boys have them. I even made Chris his set! Oh well. I never claimed my KKPsi family was normal by any means.

Lace Bolero and Scarf

Honestly, I have no idea how long it took me to finish Kelly Maher's Ribbed Lace Bolero. It went with me to work at Betsy Ann Chocolates, to Stitch and Pitch Day at PNC Park, and it even kept me company on the T. Whatever the case, I finished it in less than a week from cast-on to seaming, and I had the pattern memorized after two rows of lace.

I followed the pattern almost exactly (the only modifications I made were for fit) and used some cheap Bernat Satin in Sable.

The color in this picture is the closest to it's actual color.
(Don't mind my stupid expression.)

...and this was the only good shot that I could get of my back. Trust me. I tried everything. No amount of wiggling could get a better one.

Since I barely used any of the second ball of yarn to finish the bolero, I knitted up a scarf with the left over. It isn't anything fantastic, and it only took my two days to finish. Although I think that the cable pattern that I came up with is pretty (and ridiculously simple), I didn't want a brown scarf. Who does? Apparently my Daddy. He was the sucker that finally accepted my offer of an el cheapo scarf.

Round Two

Alas, this is not my first ever knitting blog. The last one was never updated. We shall see what happens with this one.

I just finished two projects: one bolero and one scarf (made from the leftover yarn). Pictures will (hopefully) show up eventually.
